Curious Witch Films is more than a production company, it’s a spell against cynicism.​ The “Witch” in our name is a reclamation of a word once used to scapegoat, silence, and burn women who dared to live differently. For us, it represents what we feel the industry needs most: curiosity, intuition, and a refusal to be tamed.

Founded by veteran producer Marie Halliday, Curious Witch was born from a deep love of storytelling and a growing exhaustion with the systems meant to support it. After years inside the Hollywood machine, we found ourselves disillusioned by endless cycles of notes without vision, bright-smiled yesses that actually mean "no", inefficient processes that stall momentum (*cough* Business Affairs *cough*), and a culture where responsibility is often passed endlessly up the chain. So we built something different.

At Curious Witch, there is no passing the buck. We are the buck. We believe in decisive creative leadership, transparent collaboration, and honoring both the artist and the audience without losing the soul of the work.​ We develop and produce bold, emotionally resonant film, television, and select publishing projects that may once have gotten us burned at the stake. Our slate spans genres, formats, and tones, united by a shared DNA: fearless perspective paired with compelling storytelling. We are drawn to voices unafraid to go there. Creators who challenge systems, interrogate power, and embrace complexity while still delivering a thrilling, entertaining ride.
